Dancer Dreams of Flight

The city of San Antonio Texas is sometimes referred to as the US gateway to Latin America. It blends Texan, Mexican and American heritage into a vibrant cultural and business environment. One of the jewels to be found in San Antonio is the Instituto Cultural de México which is a permanent institution maintained by the Mexican government.

The young dancer was resting after performing at the Instituto. She seemed to be lost in her own thoughts.

Peacock Alley

This short narrated photo essay provides a glimpse of downtown San Antonio that most residents and tourists never see. Peacock Alley meanders through old commercial districts just blocks from the Alamo. It is part of the infrastructure of the city that dates back to around the time Teddy Roosevelt was in town recruiting Rough Riders for the Spanish-American war.

The old man with the cane was slow but moving forward speaking to passersby as he walked. He seemed to have no complaints.

This is a photo that I reinterpret from time to time. A black and white image derived from the same digital raw file was posted here some time ago. Each image is unique and together they represent a body of work based upon a single photograph.
